The first Irish whiskey from the Western province of Connacht in over 107 years, Every precious drop of Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey has been triple distilled by The Shed Head Distiller, Brian Taft using Malted Irish Barley, Un-malted Irish Barley and Irish Barra Oats. Aged in Sherry Oloroso and Kentucky Bourbon casks with no added colour and no chill filtration, and bottled at 46% abv. Malted Irish Barley, Un-malted Irish barley, and Irish Barra Oats
Un-malted lends the new make spirit a unique spiciness & depth. The malted barley is much softer, and lends the spirit an inherent sweetness & a deeper, more full body.
As part of The Shed's constant quest to create what they like to call “Premier Grand Cru” Irish whiskey, the distillery strives to use only the most premium quality ingredients in the world. For Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, they add in a small amount of Barra Oats. These Irish Oats are key to imparting this whiskey with a distinctive elegant creaminess throughout the tasting experience, and elevating the spirit to the most creamy and premium level.
Un-malted barley imparts a silky mouthfeel, when combined with the Barra Oats, to create an intriguing creaminess and spiciness to the finish that is exceptionally smooth, creamy, spicy, and a true delight for the senses.
