Iron Smoke whiskey is distilled in Fairport, NY from locally sourced New York State grain. The recipe is a four grain based bourbon consisting of Corn, Rye, Barley and Wheat, all of which the wheat portion is lightly smoked with apple wood before all od the grains are fermented for the distillation process. The mash is distilled twice in copper pot stills and then undergoes an aging process in triple charred virgin American white oak barrels. Each barrel is sampled during the aging process to monitor its progress and only the best barrels become Iron Smoke. This meticulous process leads to a whiskey that imbues a sweet, smokey flavor. Sweet to the nose with a unique smooth full-bodied flavor, the rich depth of oak throughout the pallet reveals a subtle warm apple wood smoke finish.
