Clocking in at 100 proof with over 90% rye in the bill, this was once a household name among rye drinkers of the early 1900s. Thankfully, the brand was re-launched in 2008 and continues to provide a fully expressive, non-chill filtered rye at an affordable price. Waves of rye and clove on the nose are highlighted with orange peel, eucalyptus, and dried mint, with a slip of savory cocoa underneath. Silky-smooth on the palate, despite its high proof level, with characteristic rye bread and orange zest compemented by a touch of dill, white pepper, and a light, soft sweetness. Perfectly delicious neat or with a few drops of water, but really shines in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
