Balanced, citrusy, intense. Amaro Nardini is the perfect balance of flavours, with hints of liquorice from the gentian root, peppermint and orange: a variety of flavours, in perfect balance. Serve it straight, cold or on the rocks: it tastes great in every way.
A forerunner of Italian distillates since 1779, Nardini's amaro has earned its place on bar shelves across the globe. Unlike their grappas, the amaro is grain spirit based, and the only disclosed botanicals are bitter orange, peppermint, and gengian root - but naturally, there's far more going on. Aromas of orange peel, bitter licorice, vanilla, dried mint, and sarsaparilla root are compelling and ever-changing; the palate is satisfyingly bitter with a measured dose of burnt sugar to counterbalance its dark root-y notes. Try splitting it for the amaro in a Black Manhattan, a drop in a Mule, or as a vital ingredient in the newly-classic Carroll Gardens cocktail.
