Peerless - Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (750ml)

Kentucky-based Peerless Distilling produces their small-batch whiskeys entirely in house, from milling to cooking, fermenting, distilling, and barreling. They use exclusively sweet mash, starting from scratch for every batch. This bottling is barrel proof with no dilution, and is left non chill-filtered for optimal expression. Now in its fifth generation, it's safe to say they've dialed in their process! Aromas of banana bread, toasted corn, and woody anise get a lift from a touch of evergreen tree. The palate begins on a powerful note with rye spice leading, followed by woody oak, broiled peach, and cracked black pepper, with a background of vanilla-scented brown sugar. Touches of leather and smoke linger throughout the finish. Spice hounds can enjoy this neat with or without a drop of water, and it makes for an excellent Sazerac, Brooklyn, or Boulevardier.
