Yola Mezcal is not only a beautiful product, but is also created with a purpose. Founded, run, and bottled entirely by women, and created from a recipe handed down in 1971 by Yola's grandfather, there's a lot of heart in this bottling. As Mezcal grows in popularity in the international market (and rightfully so), sustainability of local agave is a concern; Yola acknowledges this at many points in their process by using environmentally responsible practices and supporting local reforestation efforts. If that's not enough for you, this mezcal is simply beautiful, with prominent mango, guava, and ripe citrus notes over a subtle smokiness. Super smooth and juicy, it can take well to lighter citrus based cocktails but is also pristine on its own. Produced entirely from estate-grown Espadín and Madre-Cuixe agaves, fermented on natural yeasts, and distilled to proof.
